Bachelor Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management (BTHM) with Apprenticeships allows graduates to develop critical thinking, analytical, communication and entrepreneurial skills which are necessary for the Tourism, Hospitality and Management industries. The proposed programme contains coherent core principles of tourism, travel and hospitality management where Front office, housekeeping, laundry, restaurant management, wildlife, tour guiding and marketing strategies for tourism services included to provide a viable foundation and opportunity to graduates to specialize in the diverse tourism operations.

Apprenticeships combine on-the-job training with academic training to prepare a candidate for a specific role within a Tourism and Hospitality career and graduate will achieve professional standards desired in the sector and its related institutions in the country and the world at large.

Entry Requirements

Form Six (VI)

  1. Two principal passes in the following subjects: History, Geography, Kiswahili, English Language, French, Arabic, Fine Art, Economics, Commerce, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics, Agriculture, Computer Science or Nutrition.
  2. The two principal passes MUST make an aggregate of 4.0 points as a minimum or Foundation Programme of the OUT with a minimum GPA of 3.0.


Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality, Wildlife Management, Culinary Art, Forestry Management, Nature Conservation, Marketing, International Relations and Diplomacy, Environmental Studies, Marine, Hotel Management and Tourism, Logistics and Planning, Clearing and Forwarding, Procurement and Supplies Management, Business Management, Social Work, Sociology, Range Management, Tour Guide, Human Resources Management, Hospitality, Cultural and Heritage with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0 or Foundation Programme of the OUT with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
